And did those feet in ancient time Walk upon England's mountain green... "So what makes us different from the other churches in my town?" One of the usual "people in the pew questions" is "is our Church an American Denomination?" Since most of us think of our parish church as the basic unit of the church, and with so many denominational churches surrounding us in every community, it is easy to slip into that perception. In fact, the Diocese is the basic unit of the Church, and it is part of the American Province that is in the worldwide Anglican Communion. Therefore, unlike American denominations, we have a worldwide identity with customs, traditions, and polity that has its own unique flavor. With humility it can be said that the Anglican Communion has contributed greatly to Christianity. It is hoped that these articles will emphasize these contributions and increase our appreciation of those elements of "Our Anglican Heritage".
